Hey everyone, I'm Jordan, the new guy, just ordered my 33 kit! Its scheduled to arrive July 20. I'm gonna build the hot rod at my house in Los Angeles, if any of you are near that area. I am trying to finish the build by 2014 so that I can get in line nice and early on the first and try to get... no, GET it registered as a SPCNS vehicle. They only give out 500 a year in California and I dont want to wait another year to drive it on the streets. I am 24 and I'm working as an automotive technician here in LA. I am looking forward to a fun and challenging build in the months ahead. I will be documenting as much as I can. I like to take pictures so there will probably be a lot :D
I am still looking for my engine, trans, and rear end but all of that coming soon.

First of all welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase. Do not worry about having to be finished when getting the SPCNS started, you can do that before you are done. In the past few years there have been more than enough numbers for the demand, so going on the first working day of January is not a necessity right now (once the demand for the 818 picks up it may become one again). I live up in Fresno so if you have any questions I am not too far away.

Personally, I'd go ahead and go to the DMV after delivery and try to get a SPCN number. They may still have some available for this year. Better safe than sorry!

:) Do you by any chance know what I would need to bring to the DMV if I were to go this year? Thanks a lot.
