As I unwrapped the parts I got from AJW Performance, aka 818Donors, I weighed the following parts so you guys can compare the weight of original equipment parts to aftermarket parts. Or, to reduce weight perhaps you'll delete a part (engine air pump) or diet the wiring harnesses. All of these are from a 2006 WRX:

Weight of OE parts (06 WRX) in lbs.

Front 4-pot caliper w/ new pads 12
Front lower control arm, aluminum 8
Front brake disc, new 14
Front axle w/ both CV joints & splines 14.5
Rear 2-pot caliper w/ new pads 4
Rear brake disc, new 12
Seat (fabric) w/ headrest & slider 49
Radiator w/ 2 fans & reservoir 17
Down pipe w/ cat 20.5
Intercooler w/ Y-pipe 10.5
Steering column & steering wheel 18
Intake box w/ filter & tube 4
Wiring harnesses, all including ECU 46
ABS controller 4.5
Pedal box (brake & clutch) 7
Brake master cylinder & vacuum booster 10.5
Clutch master, reservoir, line & slave 3
Outside mirrors (2) 4.5
Engine air pump w/ bracket 5
Fuel pump 3.5

I'm surprised that 2 seats weigh 98 lbs. and the complete wiring harnesses are 46 lbs.
Please add to this list.

Good idea bro, I do know the 818 will be right at 1800 lbs on June 15th at the open house

Not to get off track but are there parts that you have already or thinking of disqualifying for use on your project because of the weight? Thanks, WEK.

I'll probably discard the engine air pump since Tim @ AJW said it is for cold starts and we don't have many of those here in the AZ desert. AJW has a delete kit for it. And, if I change to lighter seats I can keep drinking beer.

It's for cold start emissions only, not for ease of cold starts. It runs for the first few (5?) minutes or until coolant temperature reaches 190F. On my 06, I deleted the entire system. All I had to do was turn off the codes on the ECU (used a Cobb AP) and bolt two block off plates on the back of the heads. On the 07, you need to retain the top of one of the valves since it contains a secondary air pressure sensor that the ECU needs a signal from.
