I'm looking at purchasing a FF Cobra kit, and my only hesitation is whether I can even fit in one. I am 240 lbs, 6'4", size 12 shoes and would like to have the opportunity to sit in a built car to determine if I should move forward on this project.
Is there anyone in the Cleveland OH area that would make their vehicle available for my review? I understand that there are some seat options that can extend some leg room, however I'm also concerned with the foot well area and if my size 12's would be conducive to a clutch set-up.
Thanks for your help,
Gary

I'm sure there are owners in the area who might help you out. But couple of additional options. Summit Racing has gotten pretty involved in the Roadster build business and last I heard their build was sitting on the floor at Summit Racing in Tallmadge. Don't know if they'd let you sit it in (probably not) but could see up close. There's also the London Cobra Show coming up in a couple weeks. Just a relatively short drive down to the Columbus area on Saturday, June 22, and you would see and talk to as many Cobra owners of all brands as you'll find about anywhere. http://londoncobrashow.com/
It would be tight, but it is possible I think for guys your size to fit, with some mods perhaps. The driver side footbox on the Mk4 is wider then any previous models, and with the right pedal layout could work.
Not done but steering in pedal box in and drivers seat in but not bolted in there are 5 in the North Olmsted area
Post on the other forum and sharkx will probably offer.

Welcome! Gary you will fit with no problem , I am a bit bigger than you with 13e shoes and built my roadster to fit me. I switch between low back steel frame cobra brand seats from Sube sports (FF5 standard seat now) and aluminum Kirkeys for track use, with track seats I am straight leg toes pointed to get the clutch pedal on the stop. I have not gone to London show (date conflict with June Sprints at Road America) but I think there is no better place to see more replicas with freindly owners. Look for cars with tall owners and don't final judge by a car from anyone smaller than youself. Some varibles that can change are steering wheel = shape diameter, height and angle. Seat same choices, but substitute thickness, width and padding for diameter. Pedals all four, the dead pedal on left is important for rest and bracing. Then pedal distance , reach, angle, spacing, with travel limit stops top and bottom. Just a few adjustments you will fit and be comfortable. Good Luck, Warren
