My bodywork and paint is currently being done at Whitby's in NC. The car is really taking shape and Jeff and his crew are doing a top notch job!!

I went to Greensboro this passed weekend and am very happy with the work that is being done.

I am using Tom's hood nostrils, side quarter window scoops and rear wing.

Tom's pieces really dress up the car in my opinion.

The car should be in primer within a week or so. and I'll post more photos then.

Steve was nice enough to send me some instructions on how he installed his diffuser. Jeff was able to use that info to install the diffuser.. thanks Steve

Will be using Shane's diffuser louvers, front grill louvers, side air intake louvers and rear hatch louvers. Cant wait to see those attached.

Dan,

Very nice. I really like what has been done. I can't wait to see it in paint.

Tom makes some really nice parts and I agree with you that they really add to the look of the GTM. The hatch latching system, incorporated into the deck wing, also solves the week latch issue.

Dan-

She really looks beautiful. I know paint will make all the difference! Have you chosen a color? I also like all the diffusers you will be using; they really add a nice finishing touch.

Jeff does really nice work, and I am sure yours will look awesome. Best of luck!

Regards,

Steve

MAN! Just seeing it together, even unpainted...you'd have to be a fool not to see something sexy under that mud;)
Gratz man, it's an exciting time to be alive.

Thanks you guys I appreciate it. Color wise I think I am leaning toward a grey or silver and will have to make a final decision soon. Looking at all the great looking completed cars out there makes me change my mind often. I dont think I can go wrong with what ever I pick..

It won't be long now and everything you drop will fly horizontally towards your car;)
Really looks great. It's just going to keep getting better!

Hey #106, I'm #105, your slightly older brother.

The hood section is looking great, and that spoiler is growing on me every time I see it. Lovin' the lower rear reverse lights too(?)!

Thanks everybody.! Jeff just had a wheel alignment done to make sure the wheels are where they are supposed to be. The way it was sitting, acouple good bumps and I'd hit my tire on the back side of the body. Still doing some bodywork before priming. Adjusting here and there... will post some pictures again soon.

Here are my latest updated photos.
Has anyone noticed the rear pillar of the doors? Whitby took them off the doors and mounted them to the body which turned out really nice. Jeff is also putting a channels above the doors to help seal the windows. They also did some nice fiberglass work around the interior of the rear hatch engine area to stiffen that area up. The window on the hatch has been a problem area for most and Jeff is altering the opening on the drivers side to get that the area around the window correct. When I get the car back I'll take some photos and post them.

The plan is to have the car back over the 4th of July when my wife's cousin and husband drive here to visit us from Greensboro.

Getting anxious since the summers are so short here in Michigan. Still need to work on the interior when the car gets back.

Thanks, I am excited.. I am looking forward to getting the car back. The original plan was to have the car back to me for the London Ohio event this next weekend. I am frustrated because summer goes by quickly and don't want it to be next year before I get to enjoy this car. I am looking forward to installing the interior. I bought a pair of seats that I am pretty sure will work. I took them to Al Carpenter's house today to test fit them in his GTM and they look pretty nice in the car. They are brand new leather seats that were discontinued and got them for a good price.

Dan,
I did notice the work around the door pillar and it looks great as does the rest of the car.
Please provide some detailed photos of that area when you get the car back and congratulations.

I do like that change of moving the pillars. I will be posting more photos as I get them. Should look quite nice when in paint.
Thanks Dave

Its taken some time but the body is primed and ready to paint. When Jeff's guys have finished the prep and go to move the body the roof has cracked.. not once but 3 to 4 times. Now they have ground down a good portion of the roof and laid in some clothe. Jeff thinks the problem is most likely solved. This kit is from around 2006. When fiberglass sits that many years does it become more brittle and susceptible to cracking?

Spoke with Jeff this week.. He had said that the car would be ready this week. I was waiting for some final photos. My being in Michigan and his shop in NC has not made this easy.
