View Full Version : FFR Instruction Updates

I recently called Rick Masters at FFR to inquire about new or expanded instructions that were available for the AC condenser and evaporator. I learned that they were available from a post on the other forum. Rick, who is always patient with me (a novice) and has been a great source of information for me, was happy to e-mail a copy of the instructions. They were invaluable to me and made installing the AC components much easier. This made me wonder if other instruction updates are available. I hate to call Rick each time I run into a problem though he is always happy to help. It seems if Rick can send me a pdf file of an instruction update, FFR ought to be able to post a list of updates for us kit builders to browse and download as we need them. That way we would get the most up-to-date information and not waste so much of the FFR staff time.
Any chance FFR could produce a list of updated instructions that we could access and download as needed?

It would be great if we (builders only) had access to the latest manual and interim changes not in the manual. It was mentioned in another thread and I think there's a plan being worked.

Amen! Amen! Amen! I think FFR is working on this. Nothing is ever as simple as it seems, but putting together a set of master email address lists by FFR kit model and serial # should be a reasonable thing to do. Then when an update of any kind is appropriate, an email to the effected owners can be sent out. And, as kits are sold, the new owner gets added to the list. That would be another selling point too.
When a builder is in the middle of trying to solve one of the myriad problems and an email shows up with the solution, it would be like throwing a life ring to a drowning man.

Yet another reason for multiple sites with build threads. Other builders have saved me a ton of time and money.

On the blue and silver '33 hotrod built for Ford by FFR there was a Metal Threshold used on the door sills. Is there anywhere these can be purchased? I am builder #251 and find the instructions on some areas not in the manuel; leaving it up to the builder to figure out? after you build the first one, you find things you wish you should have done different.

ADD ME TO THE LIST AS WELL- THX. Bob Sutton- flightsafety@verizon.net
aquadragon,
Call FFR and order some GTM threshold plates. I got set. All I had to do to make them fit was shorten them a few inches and add an extra notch so they would bend cleanly. To fasten them, you could rivet them or use double stick 3M emblem/trim tape. I'll be doing the latter.

We sent out a manual update for the Hot Rod yesterday and I wanted to check that everyone got it. Please send me a PM if you didn't.

Dave thanks for the update on the manual. My digital manual is rev 1i and my print manual is before that. Is it possible to send each owner a link to download the latest complete manual when you make updates? I can only guess what I missed from 1i to 1m. Thanks and keep the updates comming
