Cant wait to get to Arizona and drop the engine in, hope to have it running by the next Huntington Beach show. I think the body might be off a little...My wheel base seems a little long for the body.

Hi David,

You may have mentioned it before but where are you locating in AZ? As you have probably heard there are several FFR guys and other styles too out here. So if you are going to be in the PHX area you can drive out to HB with the other Zonies next year. The build is lookin' good! WEK.

Let me know when you get to Arizona. Just finished Mk 4 in Tucson. See at FFRMK4Cobra@blogspot.com.

Congrats on the way things are going for you. The wheel base thing has to do w/ the rear axle I suspect. There was a long thread on the 'other' forum by someone w/ the same problem. As I remember the answer had to do w/ the three link being adjusted so the pinion angle was way off which moves the axle rearward. It's not all that though which you can see looking at the FFR silver car used in a lot of their publicity shots. To me, even their car has the axle too rearward visually compared to the wheel opening in the body.

As Craig mentioned a few other builders have paniced when theirs looked like yours but properly setting the pinion angle will roll the rear axle into position. There are threads on both forums; this is a recent one:

Good luck with the move!

Lucky...if you need some help we can put together a day trip to come down and help you put the engine in and get it started. You supply the wrenches, beer and pizza and we'll supply the labor. There are several guys in my neighborhood that have put in/out many, many engines in cobra's. We'll be glad to help a "newbie". We live in Mesa.
