Spring has taken its time arriving in Michigan this year. But finally able to get to my first car show of the year. After a frosty 34 degree 20 mile drive to Rochester Hills, got a great parking spot and it turned into a nice but cool day. Lots of great cars and good visiting. This show is interesting because it's run by the Lion's Club and the proceeds go to the Leader Dogs for the Blind, a pretty famous training school in Rochester Hills. Lots of people checked out my Mk3, dealt with the multiple "Is it real?" questions, had my first offer from someone to buy it (not!), won a door price, and many took FFR brochures. Even though I was surrounded by beautiful cars, there's just something about the Cobra shape that people gravitate to. The show organizers offered a free safety inspection from the National Street Rod Association, so took them up on it. First time I've ever done that. The inspector gave me a perfect score. Said it was obviously a professional build. I said actually no it was my first build. But was good to have an outsider give it a once over, even though not a real deep inspection. I turned 2,000 miles last weekend, and it's running great. Much nicer and warmer drive home. Good times. Here are a few pics from the day.

Part of the line-up. There were many others throughout the park.

Edward-

Looks like a nice turnout and some nice cars. Although the red Roadster with the white stripes was super sexy!! Thanks for sharing the pictures. By the way, was the offer a "serious" one, or was the person just fishing? Sounds like a fun day!

Regards,

Steve

Hard to say. He was a local business owner, and seemed serious enough. But I didn't let the conversation go too far. Just not interested right now.

No no, I understand! I was just curious because I think lots of folks just "talk" about buying, vs. the few that have a serious desire. Didn't mean to pry!

Your car looks great, and it looks like you all had a good time. Thanks for sharing!

Regards,

Steve

Great looking job edwardb. Is there a Sturgis for Cobras? If not, we need one. We have a small local show coming up this next weekend.

Well, the number isn't as high as Sturgis (what is?) but one of the biggest around is the London Cobra Show. Coming up in just a few weeks. Usually a couple hundred Cobras. Factory displays. Lots of cruising plus a show in downtown London. Great times if you haven't been there before, and not too far from NC. This year will be my second with my car. http://londoncobrashow.com/

Hey Steve. Thanks for the compliment! I didn't think you were prying, and meant nothing negative by my response. Sorry if it sounded like it.

I have checked that out on the web. It looks like one of the things one has to do at least once. My car was built in Ohio. I will defiantly keep open plans for next year. 630 miles toy hauler or motel decisions, decisions:rolleyes:
