I started installing the rear legs of the roll bars for the first time. I noticed that the left and right side didn't line up the same. So I went ahead with the driver's side and got it together with only some minor difficulty. However, I'm not feeling so good about the right side as it didn't line up similarly to the driver's side. On the driver's side the rear post for the halo started to the left of the rear leg and as you pushed it down onto the leg they converged until they hooked up. On the passenger's side I was expecting the rear post on the halo to be opposite of the left and line up outside or toward the right side of car of the rear leg. However, it is inboard of the leg with the rear leg placed on the flange in the trunk. So as the halo is pushed down, the two points will get further apart instead of converging. So I tried different stategies to make them fit including shaving a little of the fiberglass from the rear oval hole to let the rear leg go a little more toward the center but still no luck. I removed the rear flange for the rear leg and "installed" it on the halo. It fits perfectly on the post and thru the hole. So at this point, I'm not sure if I need to make the oval hole still larger or abandon that idea and see if the flange is not welded correctly to fit perfectly. I think it would only have to be a fraction of a degree off to cause a problem at the halo / rear leg intersection. I haven't heard too much discussion on this subject and the threads I pulled up didn't really fit this situation. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did you address it? If I hadn't already gotten the driver's side done, I would say it could be "operator error". Before I started this, I was thinking to myself that the right side should be easier (ha-ha). Thank you in advance, WEK.:cool::cool:
