I eluded to the new trailer in the thread I started about checking your trailer hitch. http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?9569-Check-Your-trailer-Hitch-PLEASE! At that time we were still waiting for delivery of the trailer but the trailer is now here. Julie and I drove out to Yuciapa last Tuesday afternoon and picked it up. Over this past weekend I sanded the floor of the trailer and put a couple coats of sealer on it to hopefully keep it looking new for some time. We'll have to see. Trailer is a 8.5' X 20' made by Look trailers. Look trailer is a new company founded by the family that previously owned and ran Haulmark Trailer. After the company was sold, they remained owners of all of the manufacturing facilities. And once the non-compete ended they began manufacturing new trailers.
Here are a few pictures of the outside of the trailer.

And here are a few shots of the inside of the trailer through the side door and rear door.

The trailer has rounded top corners and this does help when towing in windy conditions. It was very windy as we pulled the trailer home last week and the trailer pulled arrow straight. The inside walls are lined with a vinyl covering that reminds me of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Panels). As you can see the floor is plywood. At some time in the future we may decide to have spray on bed-liner or another product put down on the floor but for now we are just sealing the plywood. The future plan for this trailer will be to support our racing weekends.

Bunk beds and a full kitchen will fit nicely. Hope to see you and Julie in June.

Nice starting point. Now you need to add a workbench and storage, fold down cot, air conditioning....the list goes on. Congratulations on a very nice trailer.

very nice, I'd love to see what others have done re bunks and storage... I have a 16 foot vee nose and have a cabinet across the vee in front. I want to do some sort of bunks, been using an air matress on the floor.
I just bought two 100 watt solar panels for the roof. I want to use two big 185 AH storage batteries and setup 12 volt acc. I need to add an operable window, perhaps in the door?

Don't look for us to be doing any mods to the trailer for some time. We first need to build our Competition Coupe. The trailer is the first piece of the puzzle and with the economy still struggling it will be some time before the Coupe kit gets ordered. We wanted the security of an enclosed trailer now for 2 reasons.
1.- To be able to lock up the car and tools etc for overnights when traveling with the Roadster on trips.
2.- Not having people run Julie off the road when she is driving the rig. People are very inconsiderate when they pull up next to the trailer on the highway and take pictures. Last year with the open deck trailer we almost lost the entire rig on the way up North as someone squeezed Julie into the right lane that was already occupied by a big rig. She managed to get our rig whoa'd down without jack-knifing the thing but we don't want to relive that again.

I understand, I consider mine to also be an extra small lockable garage.

Frank, I know the feeling when I pull the roadster over the Grapevine to anywhere South. I have been sandwiched between 18 wheelers before, NOT good on the nerves.

I was going to make a comment about how nicely my Coupe would fit in there, but then you went and said you were building one yourself. I'd be more than happy to shove mine in to make sure the dimensions are compatible (not after it's painted though). Love the trailer. It is really, really nice. The roadster is going to be spoiled. As for the towing, isn't it ridiculous how oblivious and/or rude some drivers can be? We have all sorts of near misses when we tow the Jeep with the motorhome. People just don't pay attention and nearly wipe out the Jeep. Anyway, congrats!!!!
To be honest I am not too impressed with it. I guess I will let you allow us to borrow it and all... just because we are friends. LOL.

Frank,
Just thought of something ... I guess you will use a winch to pull the coupe in. I noticed that you don't have a door on the driver side of the trailer. Don't think you will be able to get in or out of the coupe without a driver side door on the trailer. I do have the side door and it is still challenging as the driver door opens right at the wheel well of the trailer. Gettin' old ... not as flexible as I used to be!

Frank,
Time to install some "E" Track (http://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Trailer_Cargo_Control-sf-E~Track_Parts.aspx) in the floors.

I have given that some thought Garry, I'll wait and see where we end up as far as space on the side, Side Impact Bars on the Competition Coupe make it difficult to get in and out as it is. May be time for me to loose some weight. Either that or let Julie pull the Coupe in and out of the trailer.

Bill S.This we have been talking about as well. Just want to wait until we make a long term decision on the floor covering.

Before the floor covering here's something to ponder. There was a lengthy thread on Bangshift awhile back about all the trailers being stolen, often with a nice car inside. There were as many ways to try to theft proof as you can think of with almost every one shot down by a method to steal it. I came to the conclusion that cutting hitch receivers through the floor on all 4 corners and making steel parking legs filled with concrete is the answer. Jack the trailer up a bit, drop the legs down and pin em at that height inside the trailer. They can't tow it, and they can't drag it up on a roll back so they would have to dolly it and that takes to long to load so they go steal someone else's trailer. Worth some thought.

Just a follow-up on the trailer and how it tows. We took off on our trip this past Monday heading North to Murphys, CA. Trailer pulls amazingly, even with strong head winds and a pretty heavy cross wind the trailer was stable at highway speeds. The head winds certainly did not help us with fuel millage though, we used nearly 15 gallons more fuel than we should have. The trailer provided a really nice secure place to store the Roadster each night as we pulled back into the motel. I added a couple of pictures below. One as we were leaving, the other when we returned and were in the process of unloading the trailer and truck.
