I've had a few customers ask for something like this. The door hinge arm will ride in the slot.

Hi Nick,

I've left that up to the customer since some builders may have more or less material around the opening in the body to work with. On my personal car, it will be a single, countersunk screw on the bottom center held in place with a rivnut or I might just use sticky tape.. I can drill and countersink for the customer if they let me know if they want a single screw or one on each end. They can also be riveted on or use double sided sticky tape since the part isn't structural. I can supply with and industrial strength sticky tape as well.

What I found critical on the door hing adjustment is that is is critical that the hinge arm and the door frame be parallel to one another. In other words, the door hinge arm center line needs to be parallel with the center line of the door frame mounting pad that the arm bolts to. The side to side doesn't matter, so you still have all the adjustment you need but if the door hinge arm is at an angle to the door frame mounting pad, the arc is different and the travel in the door plate slot changes. This may require the plate be slightly modified.

In addition, it comes with a rubber stop to slip over the allen bolt the factory uses to stop the outward travel of the door. This not only cushions the door in the extreme open position but if installed correctly, gives clearance at the ends of the plate when fitting to the body.

These come in a natural state but with a little time, can be polished to a mirror finish or painted. One could also scothbrite it or lightly sand for a satin finish look.
