All;
hard place to measure, but what are you getting for clearance from the top tensioner pulley to the underside of the water fall on the Gen II interior.
I want to add some sound deadening to the waterfall, but putting it in the inner side may pose a problem for clearance.

thanks

There's about 1/7654335668789th of an inch if that helps.

Picked up one of those $9.99 micrometers from Harbor Freight Gary? :) (Me too)!

I have about 3/4 inch to 1 inch at the tensioner.

David, a good way to measure the clearance is to use a slab of of clay on the inside of the waterfall. Tighten down the waterfall to its final position then remove. Use a micrometer or ruler to measure the amount of clay in the bottom of the dent the pulley makes in your clay slab. Thats your clearance.

David,

On my car, I have 3/4" clearance between the idler pulley and the inside of the engine cover at closest approach. However, I have effectively 0 clearance between the idler pulley mount and the inside of the engine cover. I've thought about insulating for sound/heat as well. If you consider any engine movement, there's really very little room to play with.

Good Luck!

Good idea about using clay, I'll have to grab some from my son's stash of play doh. Might have to mold a GTM for him after..lol
I spoke to Hugo (kempo) and he said to swap out to the original corvette pulley. It is smaller and will give more clearance. I still have the corvette pulley, so if time permits I will swap it
out and check clearance. Hopefully I can get some dynamat in there.

Personally all that rotating assembly spinning next to my head, behind that plastic cover gives me the creeps! I'm fabing up a .190 aluminum cover with appropriate clearances for my engine.
