N/A exaust

Does anyone know if the N/A 2.5 engine will perform well with dual exhaust? If I decide to go N/A I'd like to run dual exhaust with separate mufflers. I know some engines are designed to run better with single exhaust, don't know if Subie's do or not.

I've never seen it, but considering that the turbo motors running a dual exhaust will need to be split from a single downpipe I don't see why a similar 1 into 2 system couldn't be used for the N/A motors. A few new Subarus are doing just that.

To the best of my knowledge, the best power on NA engines is produced using tuned equal length headers which ultimately dump into a single pipe. Doesn't mean you couldn't split back into two, though. Try calling Tom Penner at Techworks Engineering, in Calgary, Alberta. He designs this stuff. Smart guy.

^ yup... And are best suited to a 2.25" id exhaust with as few bends as possible...
