Finished up the last detail yesterday to get the chassis ready for the body which is still at the paint shop. Following Jeff Kleiner's instructions, I added a toggle switch (and indicator light) to over ride the radiator fan thermo switch. I can now turn the radiator fan on at any time without having to wait for the engine coolant temp to reach the range of the sensor (185F). Thanks Jeff.

Have run the engine a few times to make sure all gauges, switches and sensors are working properly. Plan to take the go kart out of the garage today for a run back and forth along the driveway to make sure the clutch is working properly. The body won't be ready for another 2-3 weeks so have pretty much run out of things to do on the car until then. I guess I will have to catch up on yard work.

Nice looking go kart! Set the ride height and get it aligned---much easier to adjust the upper control arms with the body off ;)

Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff,

Did an initial ride height setting yesterday also. Set the front at 5" and the rear at 5 1/2". A little high but the body and all trim is off and I understand the height will settle a little after running.

Didn't think about getting it aligned with the body off but makes sense. Can I also set the pinion angle with the body off? If so, can get the alignment guy to do that also.

Thanks,

Ron

There is great beauty in the very clean lines of the car. I have followed your build and attention to detail and you say pure set the bar high for those of us following in your tracks.

Thanks guys.

I took my first go kart ride this afternoon. All went well..................shifted smoothly, ran fine and stopped when I pushed the brake pedal. What more could I ask for??
Even more anxious to get the body back from the painter.

Adjusting the ride height in the front will change the toe setting. I would wait until you have the body on and your ride height set to do the alignment.
