Shot of the shifter, the shift controller, and the dual 2-step rev limiters. The trans is a manual shift auto based on the old Powerglide 2-speed and special built for drag racing. The trans is rated for 1000 HP applications and set-up for a "full tree". The shifter has an electrical actuator to move the gear selector and is controlled by the shift computer to shift based on time or RPM. Most use a time based shift which can be setup to maintain your dial in number and prevent break-out. The 2-step rev limiters are used for controlling the RPM during burnouts (4700) and for the launch (3500). Once you stage the car you simply hold the trans brake button and floor the throttle. The RPM is held to a pre-set limit by the launch 2-step. When the trans brake is released the car launches at full throttle and the only rev limit is on the high end just above the shift point (6600).

The shift controller records the shift time / RPM for playback and is one more tool used to dial-in the car's performance.
