Wired and fired. Started the engine for the first time in the car. I had run it on a test stand and tuned the low speed and intermediate circuits and dialed in the distributor advance. So this was just to set the timing (removed the distributor to prime the oil pump) and check the electrical functionality.

Later I backed the car out of the shop and checked the mufflers as they seemed very loud in the shop. At 50' and 90-degree from the side of the car I measured 84db at 2500 RPM. I measured 45db background noise before I started the car. The car was setting next to a wall on the offside so I'm sure some of the sound from that side was also being reflected to my meter. Loud yes but I'll take a chance with this noise level as there are many louder bikes running the roads here.

I could certainly make the mufflers quite but I don't have the means to measure the back pressure and don't want to restrict the exhaust more than necessary. The baffling I'm using is easily changed with one cap screw and the current configuration has an open area about the size of 3" open exhaust tubing. So I expect minimum back pressure.
