Developing a custom alternator drive. Can't find an off the shelf drive that will work for this application and fit my chassis.
Look close and you'll see that the v-belt is too short and is connected with safety wire. I keep this belt around just for this purpose. Seems I do a lot of these custom drives and once I get the belt length right I take my sample to NAPA and have one of the grey haired counter guys measure it on their belt measuring device and convert that to a NAPA part number. They pull the part and compare it to the sample to be sure it will fit.
Now the younger guys (younger than 60) will always ask Year, Make, and Model? Then they freak when you tell em it's for a race car.
